Our mission in Rath Dara Community College is to create an educational environment that is positive, safe and inclusive.
We recognize the key involvement of students, family and the wider community.
We embrace diversity, promote integration and foster mutual respect.
We celebrate achievement, address the needs of the individual, challenge and encourage every person to reach their full potential.
Welcome to Rath Dara Community College’s website. We hope you enjoy discovering what the college is all about. Rath Dara Community College is a new school experience, building on the long tradition of education that has been part of the school since opening its doors to the community of Dublin 15 in 1986..
Rath Dara Community College’s vision is to provide excellence in education through innovative teaching practices that create an individualised pathway in education for all students What makes Rath Dara Community College unique is its size. Rath Dara Community College has limited enrolment each year which means that class sizes are smaller and the student as an individual is recognised and nurtured. Smaller class numbers have been proven to enable students to learn faster and perform better. Class sizes of 20 or less result in more individual attention, increased participation, and better communication between the teacher and students.
Our teaching staff are dedicated professionals, committed to the highest standard of education. They have a wealth of experience in all areas of the education sector and work to promote student wellbeing and creating an educational environment in which students can achieve their full potential.
Students and Parents are key members of Rath Dara CC’s school community. Student Voice and Wellbeing are an important part of life in Rath Dara CC. The school is involved in numerous different initiatives to promote wellbeing and good mental health including the Amber Flag, One Good School, (Jigsaw) and Mental Health Ambassadors, (Jigsaw). The school also benefits from counselling services provided by Genesis Psychotherapy. Our Student Council has an integral role in all changes and improvements that occur within the school. Parents play an active an important role in their children’s education. At Rath Dara Community College we work in partnership with parents to help all students reach their full potential.
The school seeks to create a safe and caring environment in which students are given the skills and resilience to thrive in the modern world. We embrace digital technology and are a member of the DDLETB pilot programme of Google Chromebooks in the classroom. We are committed to ensuring that our students have the same opportunities and access to the digital world of education through a programme in which cost is accessible for all parents. This initiative means that first year students have access to a personal Chromebook that they can use throughout their education.
As we move forward on a new and exciting journey as Rath Dara Community College, in an environment which promotes inclusion, celebrates diversity and is built on mutual respect. We hope to build upon the traditions of the past and create a safe, happy, unique and dynamic education pathway for each student in partnership with parents and the wider D15 community.
